Risk Assessment, CSR

Risk assessments are done through scientific techniques to evaluate the extent to which hazardous chemicals can harm a person's health or the environment if exposed. The risk assessment consists of four steps described below.

Hazard confirmation → Capacity/response evaluation → Exposure evaluation → Risk determination

CSR (Chemical Safety Report) is required for existing and new chemical substances with quantity of 10 tons or more per year.

  • Hazardous materials are used to evaluate whether hazards arising from chemicals manufactured or imported by chemical importers are safely controlled by appropriate methods in the manufacturing or use process.

  • Consider the lifetime stage of chemicals for all applications, including chemical manufacturing and applications identified by subordinate users.

  • Systematic review and evaluation of the exposure and toxicity of the potential results affected on the human body or environment by chemical substances, the completion of data related to the risk management under K-REACH.
